Meet Sandhya
I am a Middle School Math Educator with a strong background in educational technology, and a career spanning over two decades of dedicated service to K-12 education.
Can you talk to my client who is moving to Houston? Can you talk to my friend who is moving from California and has neurodivergent child? Can you help settle a disagreement between me and my spouse on where to send our child to Middle School? Should I redshirt my twins? These are just a few of the questions I have helped families answer over many years. I am an educator who is familiar with the options and the research. After helping families for over 20 years, I decided it was time to offer my services as a business. I am passionate about helping families reach their educational goals and address any of their fears and concerns.
My extensive experience includes collaborating with over 500 educators and conducting observations in more than 100 classrooms worldwide. With a passion for fostering academic success and nurturing future generations, I have provided counseling and coaching to families on K-12 education for 20 years, firmly believing in the collective responsibility of community in raising children for a better tomorrow. As a committed community member, I truly believe it takes a village to raise our children.
Having personally experienced the challenges of the modern educational landscape, both as a student and an educator, I empathize deeply with the struggles faced by students and the anxieties of parents. My own journey of overcoming academic hurdles with the right support fuels my commitment to changing narratives and empowering learners.
Beyond my dedication to education, I harbor a fervent interest in entrepreneurship and all things business-related. My diverse professional background includes roles in several start-ups, including a stint as part owner of a retail venture. Prior to my teaching career, I contributed expertise in educational technology to numerous companies and corporations. Complementing my professional endeavors, I am deeply engaged in community service, having spearheaded fundraising efforts that have generated over $1 million for charities and causes both locally in Houston and beyond. I am also the founder of “Houston Desi Moms”, a group of over 1200 South Asian Moms in the Houston area.
I graduated with a BA in Economics and a BBA in Marketing from The University of Texas at Austin and an MA in International Education and Psychology from Stanford University. Additionally, I hold a 4-8 Math Teaching Certificate from The University of Texas at Dallas and recently completed a fellowship on Equity from Leadership ISD.
